Wow, I need to stop making topics! =P

So, having just completed a piano recital, I'm interested to know what you guys are into in terms of musical preference! Do you get that special feeling when you hear poppin'N lockin'? Are you more of a country fan? Does the sound of electronica get you going? What makes ya' tick?!

For me, it's classical musicians like Chopin who make me feel alive. Piano is what keeps my heart beating. For instance, here's the song I played last night at that recital: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xj7GriyF8cM

It's songs like this that keep me going...

EDIT: Joey, aren't you a rap fan?

I like a mixture of most genres. I prefer most of the older music rather than what is out currently. I like pop, rock, reggae and instrumental mostly.

Just got an Ipod for the first time ever, and I need suggestions for music groups and songs to put on it!! I'm open to any genre that isn't country, so go go go!

What kind of music do you like? I like a mixture of different genres and have music from all throughout the years on my mp3 player. Just go for what you like. And because it is Christmas, maybe put some Christmas music on too if that's what you like. :)

Sage, I would really recommend getting Spotify. It's a great program/app to have even if you just get the free version - a good portion of my musical exploration can be attributed to this.

The main genre I listen to is hip-hop. Probably 80% of my iTunes library is rap music. Before I got into that, I listened to rock & metal. I still listen to those, just not as much as I used to. I also listen to video game music and remixes in a ton of different genres (Zelda remixes are a particular favorite of mine, no matter the genre). In the last couple of years, I've also taken a liking to dubstep and other types of electronic music. Oh, and mashups. Mashups are cool.

I like pop music. Stuff that's catchy is also nice.

I've been listening to some nice chill electronic! Ambient type of music such as Shlohmo, Tycho, Bonobo, Amon Tobin and Clams Casino. FFFFFF- I love this kind of music.

I've listened to a little bit of Tycho and Bonobo. Based on those artists and the video you posted, you should check out Joey Fehrenbach, Flume, Ernest Gonzales, El Ten Eleven and Twigg & Stone. Flume does some of that vocal synthesis stuff, and the other three are really chill (especially Twigg & Stone). El Ten Eleven is a lot more acoustic, but they're still really chill.

Lazlo Hollyfeld is an art rock group that's probably one of my favorite artists, at least right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqW1aVQ76PQ

That's a song called Truckstop Mothers, and what got me the most was probably the chord progression. That one is definitely one of their more acoustic tracks. Sunoco Motel is a great track as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAMzfuBRFDk

Has anybody ever listened to STS9? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDobnFwZ51g
