What are some of your favorite fan fics? Anybody know if any good ones have been released in the time that Lemmy's Land has been out of commission? Any old ones you consider classics? Favorite authors?


(Note: Considering this is a Mario fansite, I'm thinking mainly Mario fan fics here.)

Most of my favourite fanfics are over on Fanfiction.net. I have several favourites including the King of The Koopa series by LemonyShephard. Bonds by Flipper Boid Skua is quite good although it is not complete. Change Of Heart by ebtwisty9 has been going on for quite a few years and not finished yet and I like that too. I have many other favourites also as well as some in other fandoms.

The only ones I recall being good in my eyes were the Lemmy's Amazing Race and pretty much anything that Teela Yoshi posted.

I'd have to say a few of my favs were/are:

"Love Is Acceptance," "Resignation," & "Intervention of Fate" (or anything, really) by Karma Koopa
"An Outsider's Story" & "Melodies Forever" (or anything, really) by Teela Yoshi
"The Good, The Bad, & The Torte" series by Chef Torte
"Mario VS Sonic" trilogy by MarioFanaticXV
"Yoshi's Island 2: Xoshi's Story" by Wanapio looks really interesting and seems like it's well written, but I could never get through the whole thing with how ridiculously long it is (42 chapters). However, what little I did read of it was good.
I read bits and pieces of "The Hatching of the Shreok" series by Slimer49'r and I recall either number 3 or 4 having a really cool part where there was a flashback to Luigi's "Marvelous Compass" adventure from PM2 that expanded on the final fight and Luigi's duel with Minister Crepe.

I liked most of Biribiri X's stories when I read them. The "Zoshi" series by ParaBonz was alright as well.

There are two stories that I remember reading around 2006 or 2007, but they got taken down. I eventually found them again, thanks to the Wayback Machine:

It had a pretty good story, but when I found it again a couple years ago I think I was less impressed (which makes sense). This one's actually still on the site, as Lemmy only removed the link to it from the Fun Fiction index.

Tainted Heart: Genesis by BlueWind. I remembered this story because it involved a Koopa girl named Kallie and it took place a while in the past. I posted a topic about it on LLF with those details and someone told me what it was and who it was by. They mentioned that it was still on the site and you could access it by going through Little Lemmy's Land. I found it and read it and it was pretty entertaining - I then was talking about it on the LLF IRC and BlueWind happened to be there. She wasn't pleased that I had found the link that she had thought was removed, claiming that it wasn't a good piece of writing. I disagreed, of course, but Lemmy ended up removing it. I went back through the Wayback Machine and found it again, and BlueWind wasn't happy about that either (saying how it isn't right to post work that the artist doesn't want posted). I then went back to the Wayback Machine today and found that [url=http://web.archive.org/web/20070208225706/http://www.lemmykoopa.com/lk2/lk2-369.html]it has now been excluded[/url], so I think it may be completely gone. BlueWind did say, I believe, that she ended up repurposing the story into something unrelated to Mario.

I wasn't aware Bluewind even had any submissions on Lemmy's Land. There are a lot of fics from Lemmy's Land I have read but can't remember much about them but some of those I really liked.

@Joey/Terry: Yeah, Blue had a couple fics on there. She gets VERY touchy if she legitimately thinks her story is bad, and will go pretty far to get rid of what she considers poor fiction by herself. Of course, she has a fairly high standard for her fan-fic, so that's to be taken into consideration. It works in both positive and negatives, because while most of what she ends up posting is pretty great to read, it's a shame she's depriving us of childhood memories. :<

To be honest, I also have removed a lot of my old fics from various places online due to them not being as good as I hoped although I'm not too fussed about anyone finding them. I have written many different versions of fics previously mostly all Mario and Pokemon related and they are still not up to scratch.
